Automotive Exterior Component Testing
MGA offers the automotive industry a wide range of test services strategically located in the Detroit area. The array of facilities addresses virtually all aspects of automobile testing and certification, and includes safety, durability, developmental, and due-care related test services. A number of systems are dedicated specifically to the automobile exterior.
Life Cycle Testing
Life cycle testing has become increasingly important for the quality assurance of automotive components. MGA¡¯s life cycle testing equipment allows a lifetime of a part to be simulated in just a few days, allowing customers to review the performance of their parts in a relatively short period of time. Through the use of pneumatic cylinders and electrical control systems, it is possible to simulate the actions of virtually anything with moving parts. Exterior components typically evaluated include doors, liftgates, hoods, trunks, latches, and sliding doors. For testing needing temperature/humidity control, MGA has a series of environmental chambers that allows life cycle testing to be done at extreme hot, cold, and high humidity environments. For vibration evaluation, MGA has two Multi-Axis Simulation Table (MAST) systems that can reproduce actual road input data.
